There are several ways to get involved with Voices 4 Cowper

Volunteering is a rewarding way to become involved in your community. Voices 4 Cowper would like to hear from you if you can help with :

  • Sharing our survey with your friends, groups or colleagues
  • Publicity, media, social media 
  • Events
  • Hosting or supporting Community Catch-Ups

Join our team of volunteers

In 2024, we are facilitating a process to update our understanding of the issues of concern to the Cowper community and to see if there is still a desire for an independent candidate.

The 2024 Listening Campaign is underway and is designed to to understand the thoughts, values and concerns of the Cowper community.

YOUR words will be summarised and presented publicly (anonymously) to guide all political candidates:
  • YOU will decide if an independent candidate is needed, and if sought,
  • YOU will be able to vote for the person best suited to represent you.

More than 100 people have already participated in one of our Kitchen Table Conversations since February. Groups have gathered from Port Macquarie to Coffs Harbour and all points in between including, Bonville, Bellingen, Bowraville, Urunga, Repton, Valla, Kempsey, and even online, to share their thoughts about Cowper and improving our political representation.

We are nearing the end of our KTCs and will soon be pulling together the themes from the Community Survey and the KTCs in a Listening Campaign Report.

We are continuing the conversations at upcoming Community Catch-Ups and Street Stalls in Nambucca, Kempsey and Port Macquarie, with more venues to be added - for details see our Events Page

 

In addition to our Community Survey, we will be conducting additional surveys from time to time to gauge public sentiments on specific topics and better understand issues.
